Stirring up unexpected fissures and disjuncture in global economy, mobility, and economy, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought the world into a new age of globalization and de-globalization characterized by disparities in socioeconomic systems, new forms of discrimination and social stratification (including those against Chinese and Asian communities located in different parts of the world), and enhanced cross-geocultural flows of (mis)information.
